True Justice, True Peace: An Engaged Buddhist Response to the Crisis in Gaza

Register for FREE bit.ly/bpf4gaza

  • How can we uphold the inherent Buddha nature of all beings, as we maintain absolute clarity in our work against Israeli apartheid?

  • How can wise discernment guide us to be clear in our commitment to Jewish life and dignity?

  • How can our practice serve us as we mobilize towards a free Palestine?

Join as we explore these questions and more with Palestinian-American Christian peacemaker Jonathan Brenneman, and Jewish-Israeli and Buddhist organizer and strategist Carinne Luck, in conversation with BPF co-director Kate Johnson.

We’ll offer short practices for grounding and centering throughout our time together, which will also include time for personal reflection/journaling, and time for questions and reflections with our guest speakers.

THIS EVENT WILL BE RECORDED AND POSTED ON YOUTUBE @BuddhistPeaceFellowship

This is a FREE event, please donate directly to humanitarian efforts in Gaza and TAKE ACTION.

Jonathan Brennerman is a Palestinian American Christian and graduate of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. He has worked in multiple countries doing Palestine advocacy, human rights monitoring, grassroots organizing, and challenging anti-Arab racism. Jonathan’s work connects the Palestinian decolonial struggle with those of other indigenous peoples, and challenges theologies of domination.

Carinne Luck is an organizer, trainer, and strategist who goes where she can be of most service. Since 2019, Carinne had been supporting progressive Jewish and non-Jewish leaders around the world to stop the instrumentalisation of antisemitism, leading her to co-found Diaspora Alliance, where she now serves as International Director.

Other groups Carinne has worked with include: Frontline Election Defenders, Mijente, Hand in Hand, IfNotNow, Jews for Racial and Economic Justice, Southerners on New Ground, and CTZN WELL. For over six years, Carinne has also co-led the Rooted in Resilience Project at Faith Matters Network. Carinne studied meditation instruction at The Interdependence Project (with teacher Kate Johnson!) and has been a faculty member at Upaya Zen Center's Socially Engaged Buddhist Training program.
