The Seattle Buddhist Temple and its Buddhist Women’s Association are sponsoring a fall conference.Being Buddhist in a Christian Society: Focus on WomenSaturday, Sept. 29,9:30-3:30 pmSeattle Buddhist TempleThe event is billed as a “day to gain understanding of the connection between Buddhism and women’s everyday lives.Speakers are Rev. Patti Oshita, Buddhist Church of Sacramento, whose topic is “Everyday Buddhism;” Rev. Dr. Shoyo Taniguchi, Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church, who will speak on “The Science of Happiness;” and Dr. Sharon Suh, Seattle University, who will address “the role of race and racism in the construction of an American Buddhism and what it means to be an Asian American Buddhist today.”

Members of the public are invited.  Cost is $25 per person, plus $10 for a bento lunch.  Registration is required; the deadline is September 21.  A registration form can be found at www.seattlebetsuin.com.
