How can we bring a transformative, contemplative perspective to our activist work in the world?
Join Bay Area members of the Buddhist Peace Fellowship in a biweekly sitting and study group on Buddhism, nonviolent resistance, and transformative activism.
The meeting will include sitting practice, discussion of readings and our practice, and continued conversations about structuring the group in a format that supports our transformative action in the world.
Bring a cushion if you can, and your ideas, questions, and conversation. Feel free to invite friends! For more info contact membership@bpf.org

Pronouns for Trans & Genderqueer Folks:
Some folks at our group may identify as transgender (trans) or genderqueer. They may request that you use pronouns to refer to them that you wouldn't expect, like they or ze, a gender–neutral pronoun. Or they might ask you to use pronouns you are familiar with, but that you don't think match, like he when you might assume the person is female. Please respect people's preferred pronouns. Also, some folks may have names that you don't expect or haven't heard of before. Please don't ask intrusive questions about where that name came from or whether it is the person's “real” name.
If you don't have a lot of experience with gender nonconforming people, please take a look at some of these resources before you come to the group so you can be a better ally and help everyone feel safe sharing space together.
