Members and Chapters

Welcome to BPF’s members and chapters page. We hope that you can find a home at BPF through one of these paths to action: membership or participating in a chapter. We have over 3,000 members and 6,000 recipients of our newsletter. We have twelve active chapters throughout the United States and some are international including Canada, Italy, Spain, India and more.

A member of BPF is a person who aligns with our vision and mission of socially engaged Buddhism. You will receive our newsletter and any action alerts BPF supports in the area of international social engagement, peace, and incarcerated youth. Chapters are groups formed by members who have a vision for action that is motivated from their meditation practice. BPF encourages participants in chapters to become members.

BPF holds loosely the structure of membership and chapters. This means that you join out of solidarity. There are no official elections for board members or official input on the appointment of staff directors. However, we do encourage your feedback on how BPF is doing as an organization.
